Early Life

Antwon Person was born and raised in Boykins, Virginia, where he developed a strong sense of discipline, responsibility, and work ethic within a close-knit community.

He graduated from Southampton High School in 1998 and went on to attend Virginia State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2003. During this time, he made the decision to pursue a career in the United States Army, setting the foundation for his leadership path.

He later advanced his education with a Master of Science in Logistics Management from Florida Institute of Technology, along with executive studies at Florida State University and professional military education through the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

Career

Antwon, widely known as “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫,” is a retired U.S. Army officer, entrepreneur, investor and business coach with more than two decades of leadership experience leading complex organizations across the Department of Defense and the private sector. 

Commissioned into the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps in 2004, he served in multiple leadership roles including Company Commander, Battalion Commander, and Brigade Deputy Commander, supporting operations across the United States and overseas.

Alongside his military career, Antwon has been an entrepreneur since 2007, building and exiting multiple businesses. Following his retirement, he founded Skillful Brands, a consulting and technology firm focused on helping entrepreneurs simplify operations, implement effective systems, and drive business growth.

Giving Back

Giving back is a core part of Antwon’s mission.

He believes true success is measured by the impact created, not just the results achieved. Through the Person Family Foundation, he invests his time and resources into initiatives that enhance the quality of life and drive meaningful, lasting change.

In 2026, Antwon was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Tulsa Initiative, where he is helping equip young people with the tools, mindset, and support needed to pursue entrepreneurship and build independent futures.
